More about Trang

Trang is a wife and mama to two boys, an 8-year-old and a 3.5 year-old. Trang and her family enjoy being outside, going to the beach and park, and are big Disneyland fans! She also enjoys experimenting with different recipes in the kitchen and checking out new restaurants that continue to open in San Diego.

What’s your favorite book or podcast?

“Audiobook version of memoir “Greenlights” by Matthew McConaughey! It was entertaining and also had some encouraging points.”

What’s your ideal weekend look like?

“Warm weather and sunshine, sitting in my beach chair with an iced coffee while watching my two boys play in the sand and ocean! And a nap at some point!”

Why did you decide to be a therapist?

“As an introvert, I realized my gifts and talents shine best in the context of smaller, intimate relationships. What better place to use my skills than in a therapeutic relationship! Furthermore, I wanted to help others uncover the strengths they already possess to overcome their past and present while looking forward to the future with hopefulness and joy.”

How would you best describe the process of therapy?

“I like to compare my process of therapy as having my clients in the driver's seat and I’m in the passenger seat with them—we are on this journey together as they are the ones ‘driving’ and leading the way, but I am there to help navigate by offering alternative directions or ideas as we go through any potential roadblocks and detours. I help my clients gain more insight about their situations and empower them to live in a way that supports their own personal values and beliefs.”

Clinical Approach

Trang Jones is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, committed to supporting individuals’ work toward well-being in their current and future stages of life. No matter what has happened to you or what you are currently going through, she strives to provide a place where you can feel free and empowered to take up space.

Trang uses a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment, and family systems to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and relationships influence each other. She works with her clients to shift unhelpful patterns, build stronger connections, and create lasting change. Additionally Trang takes a strength-based approach, allowing her and her clients to collaborate on determining what works best for their therapeutic process.

As a mother of multiple children and a survivor of secondary infertility and loss, she has experienced how different and challenging each pregnancy, labor and delivery, and change within the family system can be over the years. She looks forward to supporting you throughout your perinatal journey.

Trang is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, currently under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Jenica McKeown, LCSW #62086.
