Why did you decide to be a therapist?
“My decision to become a therapist was shaped by a deep appreciation for the power of being truly heard and understood. I believe that everyone deserves a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore their experiences, emotions, and the questions that arise along the way. In my work, I strive to create that space for each client—a place where we can collaborate with curiosity and compassion to make sense of their story and cultivate meaningful change. Together, we’ll work to co-create new chapters in their book of life, grounded in growth, resilience, and self-discovery.”
How would you best describe the process of therapy?
“I believe that therapy is a unique and deeply personal experience for each person who walks through my door. While various therapeutic modalities can serve as guides, the true process of therapy often unfolds like a journey—with U-turns, unpaved roads, and unexpected cul-de-sacs along the way. Together, we navigate these paths with curiosity and compassion, honoring both the challenges and discoveries that emerge. I view this process as a collaborative exploration—one where growth, healing, and meaning are found not just in the destination, but within the journey itself.”

Clinical Approach
Julianna Echevarria is a bilingual (Spanish) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT # pending) whose clinical approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and curiosity. She believes therapy is a space where clients can feel truly seen, supported, and understood—especially during times of transition, such as pregnancy, postpartum, or navigating new roles in life. Julianna enjoys working with individuals in the stages of pregnancy, postpartum, and the parenting years, as well as with adults and families. She aims to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their inner experiences, strengthen self-awareness, and reconnect with their values and sense of self.
Julianna integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities, drawing primarily from Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused approaches. Through these frameworks, she helps clients externalize their challenges, identify patterns that no longer serve them, and re-author stories that foster healing and empowerment. Other modalities incorporated are mindfulness, self-compassion practices, and somatic awareness to support emotional regulation and connection between mind and body.
At the heart of Julianna’s work is a deep respect for each person’s unique journey. She approaches therapy through a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens, honoring the diverse experiences that shape who we are. Her goal is to walk alongside clients as they rediscover resilience, deepen relationships, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
Julianna is under the supervision of Heather St.Jean-Garica, Psy.D., LMFT #53811
