Evelyng is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 135454).Evelyng is a native Spanish speaker from Nicaragua, where she dedicated the first half of her life to her passion for art, swimming, and her career in architecture before moving to San Diego. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University in 2022 and has since provided culturally and linguistically appropriate therapy services to individuals and couples in maternal mental health with emphasis on relational, cultural, and trauma-informed care. The wide range of specific topics includes sexual trauma, relational violence, traumatic birth experiences, including stillbirth, grief and loss, mother-infant bonding, traumatic stressors, pregnancy and childbirth-related stressors, and postnatal mental health.
Evelyng's work embraces the client's values, customs, and beliefs to foster healing and sources of strength in treatment. Evelyng also actively advocates for mental health within communities by providing workshops and parenting seminars in culturally and linguistically responsive practices for families on a variety of mental health topics, including anxiety and depression in adolescence.
Since residing in San Diego since 2010, Evelyng has been passionate about her holistic framework on mental health, employing innovative models in the exploration of perceptions of spaces, visualization of emotions in intangible feelings, and visual forms in the creative exploration of therapeutic conversations.

Specialized Trainings
Evelyng earned her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University. Her special interest is helping clients to build communities as support systems, promoting rituals of cultural practices, and finding creative therapeutic alliances between the client and traditional therapy.
