      <image:title>Philosophy - Well-Mamas Mission</image:title>
<image:caption>To provide access to education, support, and therapeutic healing to nurture, thrive and influence the overall wellness of mothers and their growing families. Well-Mamas Counseling is therapeutic space where individuals in different phases of their mothering journey can be supported by mental health professionals to overcome the challenges of the many transitions that happen in life. Our goal is to support families in forming authentic relationships.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Philosophy - Matrecence</image:title>
<image:caption>For many families, entering this stage of life can be confusing and overwhelming, typically this is not how they envisioned these changes to impact them. For mothers, the numerous adjustments occurring simultaneously, can overwhelm their emotional and physical well-being. The shift from individualistic care to caring for another, is often met with periods of adjustments that significantly impact all facets of life. The state of becoming a mother, known as matrecence, involves similar hormonal and identity transitions that are seen in adolescence but is rarely spoken of. By giving the transition to motherhood a name, we normalize what so many women experience. While many women experience mild mood changes known as “baby blues” as a part of their matrecence adjustment, 15-20% of women experience more significant symptoms of depression and anxiety. One in 10 partners will also experience significant distress during the adjustment into parenthood. These conditions are referred to as Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). PMADs are the leading complication of childbirth, however, with support, these conditions are preventable, treatable and are not lifelong.</image:caption>
